One Life To Give is our club’s motto inspired by the legacy of Nathan Hale, Connecticut’s state hero and America’s first spy.
Nathan Hale was a schoolteacher who joined the Continental Army to serve in the Revolutionary War. He is best remembered for his famous last words before being executed by the British in 1776:
“I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country.”
His words captured the idealistic spirit of the revolutionary cause and created a powerful legacy of courage, sacrifice, and honor.
